Definitions Of Who We Are
Mar. 16th, 2011 09:17 amWow... So, gossip and rumours, huh? Clearly, argumentative bullshit = fun times.
And since my name's somehow cropped up in the middle of all this, I figure now's the time to set out my personal definition of what our roles are. 'Cause how much do we see someone getting blamed for something they've got no control over? Or accused of not doing some kind of sacred 'duty' they never even agreed to carry out?
Do I care whether anyone else agrees with it? No, not really. But it's more or less what I operate by and, all things considered, I class myself as something like a veteran of what we do. Not too many of us left now, which is either an indication of apathetic doom or a silver lining that some of us get to move on, depending on your own view of life.
I love it, though - love it - seeing a bunch of us get childish with accusations, then seeing another bunch of people who think that entitles them to clamp down like teachers in the playground, instead of treating everyone like responsible adults.
What, you guys can't privately find someone neutral and work things out between yourselves? You think the rest of us have some burning desire to get dragged into your little games of he said/she said?
Hey, newcomers... Welcome to the biggest source of frustration you're going to encounter here. Not the constant threat of death (you'll get used to that), but fucking bureaucracy and people bitching about things they assume everyone else gives a damn about.
Say what you want about Ardent, but he's right about one thing: Words do have power. But only as much power as you allow them.
And, dude, please. Do not use this as an excuse to lecture me about Tick-Tock or whatever that guy's name is you worship. You believe it, I don't. Live and let live, buddy.
( What we are: )
Yeah, I know this is me being a wordy bitch, but you know what else?
I've earned it.
