Ever noticed how we get way too much us-against-them around here?

I mean, just look at all this riot talk. It's no secret. Something's up. Just like it's always up. I love it, man... I love how all you inmate guys suppose us wardens actually get along with one another, like we're some big, fancy monolithic entity. Like we don't dislike the stuff the Admiral pulls on us, just as much as the rest of you. Like there aren't some of us who'd be willing to sell the rest out for the right price.

You think that? Then you haven't been here long enough.

Know who's responsible for you? Yourself. Just 'cause we might intervene if you get off on trying to suffocate people to death, all that means is we're decent. You want trust? You want extra rights to something?

Then you earn it.

Even if you're not wardened, then the Admiral's watching. Whoever he, she or it is, whether they reply or not, they're watching. Whether you're on the shitter or not, I bet they're still watching, too.

Get in the habit of earning trust through your actions, not what you say. Not by making fucking demands. Not by expecting the rest of us to give a damn if we don't know your ass - because they wouldn't on the outside, either. Get used to people shoving you around and calling you names. That's how people are.

Think we need to convene some special Council Of The Great, just 'cause some of you can't get a grip on things and grow up? Think again.

This is school. If your teacher's getting abusive, then you let another one know. Or several. It'll get dealt with. Using common sense. If you can't deal with that, then you lack the intelligence to even be here.

And now I'm going to step off and hope to God you guys remember people like Toshiko, who at least made a God damned effort to ask what the rest of you want. It ain't our fault if you chose to ignore that.

I agree on the first issue mostly because the Master ends up in that category and even if I did like him, he makes dying look like a hobby.

Though on the second, I believe it's the fact that you're all so disjointed that's causing concern, rather than the opposite, just the fact that the majority can leave is what groups you and since no one asks/answers the question of 'why?' because the answer is personal, they can't imagine what reason is good enough for you to put up with what we, as a group, have no choice in doing so.

The very idea that Admiral is watching is also why. They believe that threatening the Admiral's allies, whether or not they themselves resent the Admiral, will draw him out.

The Admiral doesn't care. If he/she/it did, anyone slapped with a 'warden' label would get immunity from floods. Most of us have to put our jobs on hold when those happen. It don't take a PhD to work that out.

We're all expendable. Wardens might come in and work out a deal, but we're just currency to the thing in charge of this crate.

Admiral thinks the game's over? Congrats. They'll just flip the reset switch and everything'll go back to how it was.

And no offence, but if you're that curious, then ask her.

The only way to get some kind of... I don't know... Ordered structure is if some of us get put here to rehab inmates, others get drafted in for security and others get dumped in management to tell everyone else what to do - and take the blame if anything goes wrong. That's how psyche wards do it, but that's not how it is here.

Bottom line is, the place sucks and everyone knows it, but we've got to deal with what we have.

Honestly, Rayne? I don't think any of us suppose that. The only monolithic entities I can think of are all in Libby's dating pool. And this 'riot' from where I'm standing is just three or four jerks with ulterior motives trying to incite blind violent rage in a majority of Inmates (myself included) who just don't give a flying -
